we offer: Gizmo is a service provision for the children and young people who live in Hastings and St Leonards. The project provides six weekly art-form workshops and participates in most Community events in the area, where the youngsters have the opportunity of developing skills and self-worth through their many performances. Gizmo The DIY Theatre Company was established in September 2003 by Pat Fisher who is a nationally acknowledged playwright and is also a qualified Youth Worker. Since setting up in 2003 Gizmo has been involved in many activities and the first production was a play specially written by Pat for the National Holocaust Memorial Day and was shown at St Mary in the Castle, for which the project received a Mayoral Award. The second award was presented this year (2006) for outstanding contributions to the community. Gizmo provides art form workshops in Castle Ward and Central St Leonards to children and young people aged 5 - 19 years, leading to participation in community events, educational trips and exhibitions of creative work.
