Hastings Borough Council is committed to working with the Black and Minority Ethnic community in Hastings & St Leonards to ensure equality of opportunity in local services and local jobs.

Hastings Borough Council along with the Police and the Black and Minority Ethnic community set up the Reporting Racial Incidents Scheme. Alex Ntung - Community Cohesion Officer is the Lead Officer linked to this scheme. He can be contacted on 01424 451370 or e-mail antung@hastings.gov.uk

Sussex Police - Neighbourhood Watch by Email

This free scheme, for anyone who is online, is now live in Bexhill, Hastings/St Leonard's, Battle, Rye and all of the surrounding Rother villages. The scheme is fully supported by Sussex Police, the Sussex Neighbourhood Watch Federation and the Hastings and Rother Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships.

Neighbourhood Watch by E-Mail is a fast two-way communication channel providing you with current updates from Sussex Police on local crime and crime prevention on a regular basis.

The E-mail scheme is complementary to traditional Neighbourhood Watch schemes. To join please send an e-mail to:-

hastingsandrothernhw@sussex.pnn.police.uk

You will receive an auto response message advising you of your local controller's e-mail contact address. All you then need do is send one e-mail stating "New Member" and a contact phone number for use in case of returned e-mails and you will start to receive information.

All messages will be sent out as "blind copy" which means that both your name and e-mail address will not appear or be publicised. We also run anti-virus systems and do not send attachments.

If you do not have access to the internet but would be interested in joining a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme please contact the Crime Prevention Co-ordinator Lee Harris on 0845 60 70 999 Extension 60428
