Futures
After Birth is a personal advisor support project for young
parents. The main aim of the project is to re-integrate young parents
back into education, employment or training; however the project
also works with issues such as housing, benefits and isolation to
prevent young parents from slipping through the net.

Teenage
Pregnancy Midwife-Hastings & Rother
Offers
antenatal care for young parents aged 19 and under providing
advocacy, support and referrals to appropriate agencies to minimise
potential social exclusion effects upon young parents. Additionally
the role involves providing education to other midwives to enable
them to develop their skills around working with young people.

The Education
Department employs a worker especially to support pregnant
pupils and school age parents (aged 16 and under). Her role
involves working with school aged mums to solve any difficulties
that might stop them continuing with their education - such as:
helping
to find and pay for childcare
talking
with teachers about changes to timetables or making young parents
feel safer in school
making
sure young parents can still take exams
letting
young parents know what benefits they can claim
getting
back into school if young parents have not attended for a while
Visits
can be arranged either at school or at home or young parents can
ring for advice.

Teenage Pregnancy Project Worker-Hastings
This
role provides intensive support to young women aged 11-25,
who have had a positive pregnancy test and provides information
and advice on pregnancy options, termination support or pregnancy
care. This role is able to accompany young people to appointments.
