Supports activities that actively promote cultural diversity and race equality.
Works with other agencies and partnership bodies to enable BME community members to influence local policy, planning and service provision.
Works with Neighbourhood Renewal team to help develop and co-ordinate the Community Cohesion Action Plan
Advises community and voluntary services providing support to refugees and asylum seekers

Recruits and places prospective volunteers with local organisations.
Groups can register their volunteer vacancies with the bureau.
Has a regular slot on local radio station and can advertise opportunities via the Internet.
Volunteer enquiries/interviews by appointment.

Responsible for financial control and administration - including administration of funds held on behalf of other organisations.

Holds a range of directories and information resources. .
Edits Hastings Community News. Copy deadline for articles is the 14th of each month and a small charge is made for inserts.

Responsible for general administration and dealing with general enquiries.
Oversee meeting room bookings (see below).

Town centre meeting room on the ground floor within easy reach of local transport services.
Access and facilities for people with disabilities.
Resource room and Attic room also available for 6 to 8 people

Reasonable charges for meetings, seminars and training for up to 15-20 people.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available and a small kitchen for food preparation.

Supports organisations to apply for larger funding applications
Provides advice and support for groups wishing to access funding streams in partnership with others

Provides information, advice and training on all aspects of financial management.
Conducts Independent Examinations for small groups.
Can provide groups with a 'Financial Health Check'.
